I will briefly introduce myself: I’m Jasper van der Maarel and live with my family in Haarlem, Netherlands.
This app was created from a new hobby of mine. Since spring 2011, I became a big fan of both iPad and iPhone. It therefore seemed a good idea to try if I could make an app for my iPhone. Since I have no previous programming experience, that was a very big challenge.
In March 2012, this hobby started with the purchase of a small Macbook Air, since you need a Mac to build an iPhone app. The idea for this app came from my wife for which I am very thankful. I think it’s a very nice theme, especially since it is current for us: we have a son almost two and a half years old. After purchasing the Mac a difficult period began in which I’ve been reading and tinkering a lot, without really knowing what I was doing. After two months I started to get the hang of it a little and a month later I could finally install the first test version of the app on my iPhone.
The second half of 2012 this project got serious to the point that my app got published in the App Store in December 2012.
